Extreme Action

Sometimes people go to extreme lengths to show that they love somebody; a mother might give a kidney to a dying child or father might pay off debts to get a daughter out of serious trouble. As wonderful as these acts of love may be, they can not solve the huge problem of sin; all the things we are and do that distance us from God.

However, "Christ died for us at a time when we were helpless and sinful. No one is really willing to die for an honest person, though someone might be willing to die for a truly good person. But God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful" (Romans 5.6-8 CEV).
